Scott Shaw’s various talents, appreciation of music, technical knowledge, and natural ability to perform have
given him the opportunity to entertain audiences of all ages throughout his career.

Scott began his profession by playing in local rock and roll bands in Buffalo, NY, and then Seattle, WA. In
1977, he continued his success and became a member of the 60’s rock band Paul Revere and the Raiders as
a bass guitarist and vocalist.
Five years later, Scott moved to Los Angeles, California to fulfill his dream of becoming a comedian. Soon he
was headlining at comedy clubs all across the United States and Canada.
While performing at The Comedy Zone In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1991, he came to the attention of
Calvin Gilmore, owner and producer of the very popular entertainment attraction, “The Carolina Opry.” Scott
settled in Myrtle Beach, working exclusively for Calvin Gilmore Productions until 1996 as a featured vocalist,
comedian, and comedy writer for Mr. Gilmore’s shows “Southern Country Nights”, The Carolina Opry”, and
“The Dixie Jubilee”.
After leaving the Carolina Opry, Scott returned to Comedy Clubs, as well as working in the local entertainment
scene. He was a frequent performer at the Comedy Cabana, and also found the time to teach a comedy
workshop there. In 1999, Scott teamed up with another local comedian, Bobby Dean to create The Karaoke
Big Show, the only Karaoke Show hosted by two national headlining comedians. They found a home for this
unique concept at Broadway Louie’s, located in Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach, creating a
Karaoke experience like no other that included concert grade sound, lighting, video screens, props and
comedy. The show was very successful. Bobby left to pursue his own interests in 2000, and the show became
The BigTime Karaoke Show, going on to win first place for Karaoke in the Sun News Best Of The Beach poll in
2003.
In 2004, Scott left Broadway Louie's to become the primary entertainer and entertainment director for the
Ocean Dunes and the Sands Resort Hotels. He performed in the lounge, provided poolside DJ entertainment
and activities for the resort guests, and booked any additional entertainment for the Ocean Dunes and Sand
Dunes hotels.
Under his own company, Scott now offers his skills and expertise as an MC, host, and DJ for special events
and celebrations such as weddings, private parties and corporate events.
Currently, you can enjoy Scott Shaw’s Big Time Karaoke and Dance Party in Sandals Lounge, at the Sands
Ocean Club Resort, as well as various locations throughout the Grand Strand, in Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina.
